“Lost Lost Lost” – the long-awaited debut album from Stylart/Timmion recording artists Pratt & Moody – takes the listener to soundscapes of classic late 60’s and early 70’s soul. Tailor-made for long lowrider roadtrips along the Pacific coastline. 

Mr. Pratt is heard on the heartbreaking falsetto vocals and Mr. Moody on twangy lead guitar, backed by the Stylart/Timmion house band Cold Diamond & Mink who also helped produce the album and cut the vinyl in their famous analog studio.

The title track from the upcoming album was originally conceived already in 2017 and was noted by the Grammy website to be one of the classic tracks of the bourgeoning souldies/sweet soul scene growing out of East LA. 

It may come as a surprise to many that the music was actually recorded just below the arctic circle. ”Such a great record – and you’d never think that came out of Finland” is how Elton John introduced their 2024 single Creeping around on his Rocket Hour radio show. Sir Elton isn’t their only famous fan, their songs have been playlisted by everyone from Danger Mouse to the Olsen twins’ fashion brand The Row.

The two Finnish gentlemen have been making music together for over 10 years in the psychedelic indie folk outfit Tuomo & Markus, but now it’s time to hear their take on old school soul balladry.

It’s not reaching too far from home since Mr. Pratt aka Tuomo Prättälä has worked on soul and r&b as a solo artist since the early 2000’s, recording several gold-selling solo albums in his homeland.

Meanwhile, Mr. Moody aka Markus Nordenstreng was based in California for many years where he wrote and recorded several Americana leaning albums and collaborated with legends like Kris Kristoffersson, Levon Helm and members of Wilco.

Once the mood pulls you in, you’ll be locked in for a while, and asking for a second helping. This album is packed with one ”firme rola” after another.
